Union Savings Bank Selects Four New Corporators

DANBURY, (MAY 3, 2018) – Union Savings Bank President and CEO Cynthia C. Merkle and Chairman of the Board Jeff Levine are pleased to announce the election of four new corporators at Union Savings Bank’s recent annual meeting.

“As corporators, these four local business leaders will serve as ambassadors and community liaisons for Union Savings Bank,” said Merkle. “We are thrilled to bring them on board to advocate for new business and to provide us with the feedback from the community we need to ensure we are continuously going above and beyond customer expectations.”

The Bank welcomes the following individuals:

Martin Handshy is the president of Charter Group Partners LLC and has been a builder in the area since 1985. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Connecticut. He is also a board member of the ABC House in Ridgefield and a member of the Walnut Hill Community Church. Handshy resides in Ridgefield.

Wanda McGarry is the Vice President of Kovacs Construction Corporation in Oxford. McGarry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut Water Pollution Abatement Association, the Washington Environmental Council and the Connecticut Water Works Association. McGarry has also been involved in the Scotty Fund, the Dorothy Day Hospitality House and the AIDS Project for Greater Danbury, which has since been renamed Apex Community Care. She resides in Danbury.

Thomas J. Oneglia is the Assistant Vice President of O&G Industries, Inc. in Torrington. In addition to serving as a U.S. Navy pilot for nine years, Oneglia was a board member for the Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust and is a little league baseball coach. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross. Oneglia resides in Avon.

Zachary S. Rapp is the President of Sydney A. Rapp Land Surveying, P.C., which has been conducting business in the Bethel area since 1941. Rapp is a firm member of the Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors, Inc., a corresponding member of the New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors and a member of the National Society of Professional Land Surveyors. He resides in Danbury.
